Cayenne Pepper with Every Meal

There is some amazing research coming out showcasing the amazing fat burning benefits of utilizing cayenne pepper daily. It will jumpstart your metabolism as you age and help to be burning fat all day long.

A friend of mine share similar passions to healthy living and organic foods.  He said he had spiced up his meals a bit and started adding cayenne peppers or dried cayenne pepper seasoning to all his meals due to the health benefits for men over 40.

As a curious man over 40 myself I decided to start digging but in the mean time since I enjoy a little spice myself I began adding cayenne pepper to anything I was eating throughout a day.

As my research expanded here are 5 things that pretty much every article I found agreed on for the benefits.

1. Provides beneficial antioxidants
Antioxidants help to keep our skin, heart and cells in general in a healthy state.  There is a load of research on the benefits of having a diet rich in antioxidants so it only makes sense this would be a beneficial trait of cayenne peppers.

2. Protects your heart
Evidence has shown that capsaicin, which is present in cayenne peppers, can help reduce inflammation in the body.  Research is also showing that a steading diet that includes cayenne peppers can potentially lower blood pressure. 

This may also be a way to avoid less healthy additions to food that could be very high in sodium.  For someone that has pre-existing heart issues or high blood pressure this could be very beneficial option. 
 
3. Improves digestion
This one threw me off a bit.  I had always heard that a lot of men as they got older struggle with peppers that have irritable bowel or they just make them gassy.  

While this can be true for some older men, in others the increase gastric juices and enzymes produced in the digestive tract could aid in breaking down your food more easily.  

There is some research that cayenne pepper can also increase the production of good bacteria in the gut which also aids in healthy digestion.  

Don't overdue the intake as you may server yourself up a massive night of heartburn.  

I personally like to add it to eggs, potatoes, chilis, veggies, etc.  Mix it up there is no sense in making good food taste bad, I definitely enjoy the added flavor and heat.
 
4. Helps with Metabolism
This is not a free pass to load up on twinkies and snickers bars and sprinkle a little cayenne pepper on them (gross).

There is research that shows daily intake can boost the metabolism in men over 40 and actually increase calorie burn compared to those that do not add spices to their meal.  

Again, this does not replace a healthy diet, but can aid to help you burn calories all day long.  

One of my favorite celebrity trainers has a site called Vshred.com and sells a supplement that utilizes the magic ingredient in cayenne peppers, capsaicin.

5. Pain relief and sinus relief

This is pretty much a given any time someone consumes spicey food their nose starts to run. 

Adding a little cayenne pepper to a daily dish can keep that congestion and nasal package free and clear from obstruction.

Some cultures also have created different creams or balms with cayenne pepper powder and used it for arthritis pain relieve or headache relief.  

As you can see this is just the start of the list of many benefits the cayenne pepper is able to provide to men over 40.  

As always I just want to start the conversation but you need to do your own research and come to your own conclusions.  Don't just take my word for it, take the time to research and test for youself, we are all different beings and will all react differently to the same items.
